Admirers by the tens of thousands – young and old, well-known and unknown, dressed up and dressed down – in spite of heavy rains came from all corners of the nation to the gravesite of late General Vo Nguyen Giap to pay homage on September 1.
Some wearing raincoats, others carrying umbrellas, and a few soaked clear through flocked to the burial site in Vung Chua – Dao Yen area of central Quang Binh province, to offer incense in remembrance of General Giap and commemorate his great contributions to the nation.
Seinor lieunanent Khac Ngoc Tan Hao, head of the security team at the grave site revealed that since the General’s passing, more than one million have travelled to his final resting place to pay their respects to the national hero.
