Authorities in the northern province of Ha Giang have announced the discovery of a new cave in the famous Dong Van Geopark, describing it as the province’s most beautiful, a local newspaper reported.
While details of the finding as well as the cave itself are sketchy, Hang Duong Thach, vice chairman of Quan Ba District, was quoted as saying that the cave is geologically very important and has huge tourism potential.
Named after Lung Khuy village, the cave boasts a system of ancient stalactites and stalagmites that are yet to be stained by human touch, according to the newspaper.
The rocks are described as being in various shapes with some looking like a curtain, a comb, a tower, and even a flower.
Local authorities plan to close off the cave while making plans to turn it into a tourist attraction, Vietnam News Agency reported.
