The northern province of Quang Ninh welcomed more than 2.9 million visitors in the first quarter of this year, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Of the figure, 790,000 came from foreign countries, up 1% compared to the same period last year and more than 850,000 stayed overnight, showing a 3% increase year on year.
Quang Ninh is now carrying out preparatory tasks for a new tourism season with a wide range of attractive activities, such as 2015 Ha Long Carnival Festival, and Japanese cherry blossom festival.
The province is also doing its utmost to improve its service quality, diversify tourism products, ensure visitors' safety, and keep prices stable.
