National carrier, Vietnam Airlines, has announced its plan to add 545 domestic and international flights between April 25 and May 4, more than 17.8% over normal service,and up 82.9% from last year’s corresponding period.

he flight increase is designed to satisfy the increasing demand for travel during the upcoming Liberation Day (April 30) and International Labour Day (May 1) holidays.

Accordingly, the airline is expected to increase some “hot routes” including Danang-Hanoi (101 flights), Hanoi-Dong Hoi (48 flights), Hanoi-Phu Quoc (35 flights), Hanoi-Nha Trang (27 flights), Ho Chi Minh City-Phu Quoc (106 flights), Ho Chi Minh City-Danang (67 flights), and Ho Chi Minh City-Nha Trang (64 flights).

In addition, low-fare carrier Jetstar Pacific (JP) will begin service between Hanoi and Da Lat, with a flight each way (to/from) on June 1.

During this period, JP will also open a new Hanoi-Phu Quoc air route until September 6.
