Vietnam’s highest Christmas tree lit up in Binh Duong

A 36-metre Christmas tree was lit up at the Thanh Le Cultural Park in the southern province of Binh Duong on the December 20 night as part of a programme to celebrate the coming Christmas and New Year 2015.

The tree, decorated with over 200,000 colourful led light-bulbs, was recognised as the highest of its kind in Vietnam by the Vietnam Book of Records (VietKings).

On the Christmas Eve, more than 300 Santa Claus will gather here to make a record on the number of people wearing the Christmas dresses in the country.

According to Tran Thanh Liem, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, the New Year celebration programme contributes to improving the spirit life of local people as well as promoting the image of an industrial Binh Duong province with increasingly dynamic development.

In the framework of the event, a 200-booth fair displaying various goods is being organised.
