Vietnam Airlines has announced two new routes from Hanoi and Da Nang City to Japan's Tokyo that are set to begin this July.
The national flag carrier will operate seven flights per week between Hanoi and Tokyo's Haneda Airport from July 1, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
The Da Nang – Narita Airport route is slated for inauguration July 16 with four flights per week. All flights will be operated with Airbus A321.
The additional flights will inrease Vietnam Airlines’ direct routes between Vietnam’s three major cities – Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang – and four Japanese cities – Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Nagoya – to 10, and the amount of weekly flights to 62.
Its operation network will also be expanded to cover 29 international destinations with 55 routes, and 21 local destinations with 40 routes.
Trinh Ngoc Thanh, deputy director general of the airline, said besides meeting the demand of business people better, the new flights will give Japanese tourists another option of transport for tours in Vietnam’s central region.
To mark the upcoming openings, the carrier also announced a promotional sales program.
A return ticket for Hanoi – Haneda costs VND6.3 million, or US$299, if it is bought in Vietnam from now till June 15 and the booked flight is scheduled between July 1 and 15.
Meanwhile, a return ticket for Da Nang – Narita is sold at VND7.3 million, or $349, if it is bought from now till December 31, and the booked flight is scheduled between July 16 and December 31.
The promotional fares exclude taxes and surcharges.
