Many streets in HCM City were crowded last night as people rushed out to watch the fireworks on the occasion of the National Reunification Day, April 30.
Setting out to watch fireworks
Roads leading to Thu Thiem tunnel had the thickest crowds because it is the best place to view the fireworks around the Saigon River.
Even though the fireworks did not start until 9pm, a lot of people found places for their view at nearby high buildings several hours before.

“HCM City often has fireworks on holidays and my family does not miss any chance to see them, even if it's crowded,” said Nguyen Hao Van, a resident from Co Giang Ward in District 1.
On the same night, there were also several music performances held at Park 23/9, the HCM City Opera House, Gia Dinh Park and the culture houses of some districts.
